Born in 1967. PhD. Professor of Faculty of Design and Architecture at Kyoto Institute of Technology. Worked at the National Museum of Art, Osaka (2000-2008). Member of the Kyoto Art Center Steering Committee. His major publications include Japanese Contemporary Art and Marcel Duchamp (Shibunkaku Shuppan, 2021) and What is Marcel Duchamp? (Kawade Shobo Shinsha, 2018). He has also edited and published Exploring Contemporary Skin Sense: Words, Representations, Bodies (2023), Value Creation in the Arts: The world that opens up from Kyoto’s modern era (2021), and others. He received the 27th Yoshida Hidekazu Award for his book Marcel Duchamp and the US: Progress of Postwar American Art and transition of Duchamp’s Reception (Nakanishiya Shuppan, 2016).
