Hitomi Hasegawa is a multi-faceted professional, serving as a curator, researcher, and founding director of the Moving Image Archive of Contemporary Art (MIACA). Currently based in both Hong Kong and Fukuoka.
Hasegawa has curated exhibitions at prestigious venues worldwide, including the Dallas Contemporary, Crow Museum of Asian Art in Dallas, Kunsthalle Dusseldorf, Mistetskiy Arsenal, National Art Museum in Kiev, and Skulpturen Hus in Stockholm, among others.
In 2010, Hasegawa was a visiting researcher at the Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong, supported by a grant from the Japanese Government Overseas Program. Her screening programs have graced esteemed platforms such as the Rotterdam International Film Festival, the Oberhausen Short Film Festival, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul.
She further contributes to the arts community by initiating and managing an artist retreat in Fukuoka. She is collaborating with artists to develop digital projects under the banner of FIKA these years.
Additionally, Hasegawa is a member of EGSA, holds a PhD from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
